It’s all the rage now on social media.
I’m a bit of a natural skeptic, so I was like, “I don’t get it.” But I’m also willing to try new things because there’s no harm in doing so and you just never know where opportunities will come from.
Here’s what happened.
Mario was open to the idea and suggested I sponsor his daily Periscope series, #InspireScope, which, according to Mario is:
A show that gives you a daily dose of substance and motivation to help you achieve your goals and dreams!
Who doesn’t need a daily dose of substance and motivation?!
Last night was the first episode I sponsored, which was aptly titled, Who’s interested in hearing how I monetize ? Periscope?
I’ll add a link to the episode once Mario uploads it. Here’s his last #InspireScope episode, which is about building a personal brand:
The first episode was last night, so it’s a little too soon to say what the results are. But I did have someone contact me about joining my affiliate marketing program.
And here’s a screen shot of what someone who watched the episode sent me on Facebook; it has my company logo on it:
I’ll keep you posted on what happens.
Remember, we need to always try new things because we just don’t know what will be effective, whether it be video streaming with Agora.io or other options, or trying a new method of outreach we haven’t done before. The key is to do so as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible. Once we discover what is working, then we can double down on time and resources to “blow it up.”
Are you using Periscope for your business or brand? Have you been able to monetize it? If so, I’d LOVE to hear about it.
P.S., I’m in NY for BlogHer to receive an award for Voice of The Year and will read one of my articles to a room with a few thousand folks. I will broadcast the reading on Periscope.
