Have you ever had to submit a video recording of yourself, but struggled with remembering all the great things you wanted to say? If so, you probably ended up with a few dozen “takes” of the video because you stumbled over your words and kept forgetting stuff. Not to mention, because you were so worried about getting the words right, you probably didn’t come across as naturally as possible.
If any of this sounds familiar, I’ve got a great free tool for you that will surely help.
I used Easy Prompter both times I tried to get on Shark Tank and had to submit a 5-10 minute video. The site is free, and easy to use. You just copy and paste your text into the box, adjust your font size and speed, and you’re all set.
Once this is done, press the start prompt button and it takes you to a page that looks like this:
Press the play button and you’re good to go. Easy peesy!
Here’s a video of me using Easy Prompter to practice my live pitch for my second Shark Tank audition. It doesn’t look like I’m reading and I’m freed up to focus on effectively delivering my message.
Be sure to have the computer raised as high as possible, so it looks like you’re looking right into the camera, and not down at it, as in my practice video.
P.S., I just used this tool again as part of an application for another national business reality TV show, and the producer said the video was fantastic; it wouldn’t have happened without this tool!
